Journey to the cross volunteer stations

  • The Journey Begins (Welcome/Registration) What is in this station: This is where families are welcomed, get registered, and receive instructions on how to begin Journey to the Cross. Volunteers needed: 3-4
  • Jesus Is Coming What is in this station: Families take a card and walk through a darkened area to enter the hustle and bustle of a bright, sandy, Jerusalem street and experience the anticipation felt at the triumphant entry of Jesus coming. Volunteers needed: 2
  • Jesus Loves Me  What is in this station: Families take a card and a UV flashlight, entering a darkened area they’ll begin to see glowing words all over the walls and floor that describe our common sins. Volunteers needed: 2
  • Jesus Shows Us What God Is Like What is in this station: Families take a card and enter the next semi-dark space that looks like a small meadow where people are gathered around a white-robed Jesus, who sits on a rock. A spotlight shines on Jesus. Families are instructed to sit. They hear quiet outside sounds
    with the voice of Jesus and the "I am" statements. Volunteers needed: 6-8 (Jesus, crowd & volunteers)
  • Jesus Suffered for Us What is in this station: Families take a card and enter the space with a large cross. Large, clear jars filled partially with water are placed along the walls of the space and monitored by a station assistant. Volunteers needed: 3
  • Jesus Is Alive What is in this station: Families take a card and enter the space that’s lit by the orange light of dawn. In the center of the space is a crude tomb with a large, white death shroud cast aside. Metal bowls of charcoal pieces are situated around the room. Volunteers needed: 4
  • The Journey Cafe What you’ll do: At the Journey Café, families will be able to pause, snack, and chat with volunteers who intentionally strike up conversations. It’s a great place to build friendships and share information about your church family. Volunteers needed: 3
  • Volunteer - we will place you where the greatest need is - it may be assisting a room leader, greeting & directing people, etc. Volunteers needed: unlimited
